They may not all be as awesome as we wanted, looking at you Iron Fist, but they have brought in a set of heroes we most likely wouldn't have got to see on the big screen. The best part of these shows are how they take the street level guys and girls and give them a spotlight. So as long as we are getting purple man and K'un Lun I think why stop there? Here is a quick top 5 of things we would love to see in the upcoming Netflix shows. Now on the chance one of these happen consider this your spoiler warning.

The Marvel cinematic universe hasn't been a huge factor in the Netflix shows yet. We haven't had much besides a few lines here and there referencing that the heroes in NYC are aware of the craziness that has happened outside the rest of the world.  The last Cap movie was Civil War and in the comics that involved everybody. I get why they can't do it on that scale for one movie but maybe we get some spill over in the Netflix 'verse. I loved how the last Daredevil season had 2 arcs. We got Punisher and the Elektra stories. Maybe the third DD season can start with a story about Matt laying low to protect his identity and not registering and Danny takes the red tights out for a bit to help him clear his name. If nothing else we get a sweet devil vs devil fight out of it.

We got to see the team up in the Defenders but in the comics there have been a few different line ups under the Defenders name. One guy that's there more often than not is the good doctor himself Stephen Strange. He lives up the road from all this Hell's Kitchen and Manhattan madness and with the hand bringing people back from the dead and mystical ninja fights going on it would be rad to see Doctor Strange pop up to help out. Even if its just in a last minute finale kind of move.

While we are making a wish list why not toss in some of the more comic rooted bad guys. I know these are the more grimy street level heroes but that doesn't mean every bank robber has to be a guy in a ski mask. I'm not asking for a season long story with Hydro Man or Gladiator but why not follow the more comic approach in story telling that season 2 of Daredevil started. Throw in a one off episode and just to help out I'l give you the story Netflix. Sandman is trying to help out his estranged daughter the best way he knows how, robbing banks. He hits a few gets on Daredevil's radar...get it, radar, damn I'm good...  and we get to see them throw down. Maybe Matt even takes pity on the guy for trying to help his daughter and works as his attorney a few episodes later to give us a little closure on the story. Boosh! It's just that easy Marvel.

It's been a rumor for a while but seriously give us Moon Knight. He is the perfect character for Netflix. You get your drama, action, a few laughs, and a vengeful other worldly god. If you don't know who Moon Knight is here's the super rough breakdown. Special forces merc who dies and is brought back by an Egyptian god to protect travelers of the night. Oh and he may or may not be totally crazy to the point that you wonder if any of the stuff he has seen is real. He has split personalities and is not at all above going full on Punisher when dealing with crime. It's worth it for the fact that each of his personalities could have totally different dealings with everyone. Just imagine a stressed out Jessica Jones trying to hold back as the guy slips from one version of himself to another. There's no way its not gold.

He has been teased in Daredevil already so don't tell me it's not possible. Come on we all know we need Stilt Man. We don't deserve him but damn do we need him now more than ever. Just imagine him taking on the Defenders. Will it most likely be a 5 minute joke fight? Yes. Will it be the most entertaining 5 minutes Marvels Netflix shows ever give us? You know it will. Oh, just to add this in Stilt Man's real name is Wilbur. Just make this happen already.

The character first popped up in 1966 in an issue of the Fantastic Four where they were given a flying car as an invite to visit. While that is an amazingly baller move there is way too much to cover in that and the following issues for this recap. So just to give you a quick summary of the man himself here is a few things to know before you get your ticket.

Black Panther finally gets his own movie and judging by the early reviews it is a movie worthy of the king of Wakanda. He rules the nation of Wakanda which has always been apart from the rest of the world. They are always shown as a mix of a more tribal African culture whle beng the most technologically advanced country on Earth. The nation is also home to Vibranium (the stuff that made Cap's shield). T'Challa becomes the Black Panther after taking the mantle from his father when he dies. He is in a lot of ways similar to Cap as far as his abilities go to with him having enhanced strength, senses, and speed. Where Cap got this from the Erksine experiment Black Panther got his skills through training and the help of a special herb....yup. In the comics he has been an Avenger for years, taken part in the super hero Civil War, married the X-Man Storm, lost his title of Black Panther to his sister after a fight with Doctor Doom left him in a coma, became a depowered Man without Fear in Hell's Kitchen, became a king of the dead to save Wakanda from destruction, joined Marvel's version of the Illuminati, and then hesurvived the "Incursion" when the Ultimate Marvel universe crashed into the mainline Marvel U destroying them both but really just combining them. Yea, comics right?? Now he is n a few current books worth checking out that have him back as the leader of Wakanda and things are going great...Ok not really there seems to be a steady line of people looking to overthrow our man every month.

That is a lot to try and follow but luckily you don't need to have read all those issues to enjoy the movie coming up. I definitely would say you should check out Captain America: Civil War since that's where we are introduced to Chadwick Boseman as T'Challa. I won't spoil it if you haven't seen it but also come on, you should have by now SMH. I think that movie while introducing us to T'Challa won't really be the lead in to his stand alone movie but I think Civil War ends n a way that more likely sets up the version of Black Panther we will see in Infinity war. This looks to be a more centered look at the world T'Challa deals with on a more day to day level before everyone comes together to take on Cable..wait... I mean Thanos, honest mistake. We will see his famly and the villains that have been there since day one like Klaw and later baddies like Killmonger and Man Ape. If you somehow still aren't stoked to see this here is the trailer to get the blood moving in that cold dead heart.

Now just to make sure you don't go in there looking like you don't know whats up we have you covered wth our "Visit Wakanda" tee. So who has seen the movie and what did you think? Let us know here, facebook, instagram, twitter, at our brick and mortar shop, or just stalk us and jump out of the bushes yelling opinons.

Jason Lott Donald Glover the man who can seemingly do no wrong is bringing his talents to FXX for an animated Deadpool show and I am already in love with this. He will be writing the show with his brother and they will also be serving as showrunners and executive producers to it along with Marvel's TV head Jeph Loeb. Loeb issued this statement

"How much more fun could this be? Deadpool, Donald and FX _ the perfect fit for the Merc with the Mouth. We're thrilled that out relationship with FX that started with "Legion" continues with what is sure to be a groundbreaking show in adult animation."

There are still a lot of details to be revealed like who will be doing the voices and all that but it has already been signed up for a 10 episode deal and is supposed to hit next year. My early hope is that if they can't get Ryan Reynolds (which let's just say it now, that is a pretty long shot) maybe they can get Nolan North to reprise DP. He has voiced him for the animated Hulk vs Wolverine movie and the Deadpool game so I would love to see him in a regular series. Who would you like to see popup in this show? Let's just hope it gets the love it should and of course let's hope they keep the mantra of MAXIMUM EFFORT going!

https://gachngoigomdatviet.com/blogs/news/impressions-of-netflixs-iron-fist 2017-05-10T12:30:00-04:00 2017-05-10T12:33:04-04:00 Impressions of Netflix's Iron Fist Jason Lott Hi my name is Dany and I am what you may call a pretty big Iron Fist fan. On instagram and twitter I am @thedanyrand (I went with the one "n" cause I saw an old Irish fighter with that and being mostly Irish I took it), I have his first appearance issue (Marvel Premiere #15),

and there may or may not be a tattoo of Shou Lao in the mix. So before I give my impressions on the Netflix version you know I am not only a fan but pretty familiar with the character. Iron Fist has been my favorite comic character for years and years so I was beyond pumped when I heard he was getting his own show. Now I wanted to give myself a bit of time to watch Iron Fist and not just pull the usual binge watching move and as I was watching I would see reviews pop up about how it is basically terrible. So real quick I wanted to run down my thoughts and see what you all have to say about it. Let it be said now I have finished the show and will be bouncing around it a but so this is your spoiler warning.

Firstly I want to touch on the big talking point from before it even aired. Should Iron Fist be Asian? As a recap let me just say Danny is not the first or only Iron Fist. Danny is the 66th and most of them have been Asian. That was something that I always liked about the character he was the outsider who won the title and became the protector of K'un Lun. So you can use an Asian Iron Fist but to fit with the other characters especially Luke Cage, Cage and Danny were known for years as the Heroes for Hire and are best friends in the books, they were best off using the Danny Rand that we see on the show.

Now to get to the show itself and how I think it breaks down. It seems like critics across the board hated it but a lot of fans liked it. For what it's worth I liked it too. It told a pretty good story that not only tied in a lot of Iron Fist lore but also made the most out of what has been established throughout the other Netflix series. Now that doesn't mean it is perfect or that I don't think it had problems. The biggest one for me is the fighting. There are a few good fights and I was stoked when Danny and Davos squared off for a bit but it was slow moving and you could tell Finn Jones wasn't a martial artist. As anyone who ever tried duplicating a move they saw JCVD do in Kickboxer (don't give me that look I know you did it too) knows martial arts are not easy. I read that Finn only got about 3 weeks of training in before schedules got crossed and he was training on set during filming. So I can see the fights not being their best and I hope that for the defenders he will be a bit more polished.

As far as the story went I liked that they didn't go overboard on trying to show too much of K'un Lun and especially Danny fighting Shou Lao. A guy fighting a dragon sounds rad but that is a tall order to pull off well in a movie much less a tv show. We got to see the heroin from the very first Daredevil season be worked into and followed up on here. As soon as I saw the Steel Serpent logo I knew we were looking at Crane Mother and have waited a long time to see that pay off and I think they did it really well. There were a few more nods to the comics as there always are but the other big stand out was seeing the Bride of Nine Spiders pop up and look so comic accurate.

The karaoke singer turned fighter also in that episode was a character called Scythe who was in Marvel Premiere #16. Not nearly as notable but a cool nod to the fans. The other standout moment was seeing Orson Randall who was the Iron Fist before Danny. He is the one you see in the old clip that Bakuto shows Danny in episode 10.

Now before I nerd out any harder I am going to stop myself and ask what you all thought.  What did you like? What did you hate? What do you hope to see in the recently announced Defenders show? One last thing- if you are interested in the character of Iron Fist and want to check out some of his comic work then what I think is one of if not his best run is the Immortal Iron Fist run from 2007. You can get them as trades pretty easily or download digitally. If you want to look like the kinda person who can go off for 15 years then come back to NY and take on an evil cult of ninja's then we have the shirt for you. With the release of Logan this is a book that I think everyone should be reading. It follows an alternate future Logan now that he is in the main Marvel universe following the events of Secret Wars from 2015. The official description for this issue is the following..

PRISON BREAK WITH OLD MAN LOGAN! A failure from the past haunts LOGAN...and to correct his mistakes, he'll need magical assistance. But when he faces opposition, Logan will turn to an unlikely - and potentially treacherous - ally! Will an encounter with MILES MORALES convince Logan to alter his path?

Written by Jeff Lemire and art by Andrea Sorrentino this is a consistently rad book that puts a nice spin on Wolverine. What are you picking up this week and have you been keeping up with this run of Logan? What do you think of this version of old Wolvey?

https://gachngoigomdatviet.com/blogs/news/deadpool-2-trailer 2017-03-06T12:05:00-05:00 2018-03-02T22:01:31-05:00 Deadpool 2 Trailer!! Jason Lott If you missed out on the Deadpool short that was released this weekend along with being played before screenings of Logan firstly, shame on you, but don't worry we have it here so you can rectify your grave error in time management.

Rad huh? Now none of that will be in the sequel but it's more Deadpool so who is complaining. We get Wade being extremely Wade-like, a Stan Lee pop in, and the Superman theme which is without a doubt the greatest theme in movie history. You also may have noticed that scroll at the end and unless you are an uber nerd you probably didn't pause to read it. Again have no fear cause we have it here. It was a summary on "The Old Man and the Sea" by Ernest Hemingway that looks like it may have been written by Wade himself. This could be a nod to Logan himself or maybe a look ahead to Deadpool and Cable's relationship in the sequel but judge for yourself after you read it here.

"The Old Man and the Sea is the story of a fight between an elderly, accomplished fisherman, Santiago, and a really big fish. Like… HUGE. The story opens with Santiago suffering eighty-four days without catching a fish because he’s the unluckiest son-of-a-bitch on planet earth. Honestly, if you were in a boat for eighty-four days, it’d be hard to NOT catch a fish… even by accident. Santiago was so unlucky that his apprentice, Manolin, was forbidden by his Ma and Pa to fish with him. But as The Fresh Prince used to say, ‘Parents Just Don’t Understand’. So the boy visits Santiago’s shack anyway.

Ignoring the inherent risks of unsupervised playtime with an elderly man who talks to himself, Manolin helps out, moving Santiago’s fishing gear, making food and talking about baseball. Especially Joe DiMaggio; who used to bump fuzzies with Marilyn Monroe. The next day, Santiago tells Manolin that he’s going way out into the Gulf Stream. WAY OUT north of Cuba. Lady luck is returning!

On the eighty-fifth day of his crappy luck, Santiago drops his lines, and by noon, gets a bite from what feels like a big ass fish. He’s sure it’s a winner. He fights and fights and fights but can’t pull the monster in. Santiago’s leaky old boat is pulled by the fish for two days and nights as he holds on for dear life. Even though he’s bloody and beat, Santiago begins to appreciate this mighty adversary. He starts calling him “brother” or maybe even, “bro.” It’s sort of a love story if you really think about it. And like most romantic comedies, the reader pictures a delightful outfit changing montage, followed by the inevitable interspecies wedding.

But on the third day, Santiago is freakin’ EXHAUSTED, and decides he just wants the fish to do what he says and not always swim wherever it wants. So he stabs it. With a fucking harpoon. It’s a mess. Super gross. Blood everywhere. Because, like many men his age, Santiago has difficulty expressing his emotions and fears with words - instead giving in to base desires - and imposing his gigantically terrible positions on any given subject through unblinking violence. Typical.

Anyway, he straps the marlin to the side of his skiff and hits the road home, ready to act like a total show off to everyone and probably gouge people on the price. But guess what? Pretty soon sharks begin to attack the bleeding marlin’s carcass, because we all know, life is a tragic opera and just when you think you’ve finally found something good and true, sharks come along and rip it all to fucking shreds while dry-humping your dignity with their crazy-weird shark dicks. Sure, Santiago tries killing a few of them, but drops his harpoon because his hands are just as old as he is. By nighttime, the sharks have pretty much eaten the entire marlin.

Only a bleach-white skeleton remains, silently mocking him in the murky darkness. Santiago realizes he’s still unlucky. REALLY unlucky. (Duh!) He calls the sharks “dream killers”. Which isn’t really all that fair. I mean, the sharks were just doing their job and the marlin… Jesus, don’t even get me started on the marlin! It was just hanging out one day, minding it’s own business, maybe thinking about ways it could be a better provider for it’s family and WHAM! Harpoon in the brain. Who’s the “dream killer” now, fuckface? The hypocrisy is pretty much boundless at this point.

Eventually Santiago makes it ashore. Leaving the bones of the marlin and the boat, he hobbles to his shack. He makes it home and crashes, like I said - he’s super tired. The next morning a group of fishermen gather around Santiago’s boat. One measures the skeleton and, holy shit-shingles! It’s over 18 feet! The head of the fish is given to Pedrico (strange that this is the first mention of him) and the other fishermen ask Manolin to send their glad tidings to the old man.

Manolin brings Santiago newspapers and coffee when he wakes and they decide to fish together again. Many years later, there’s a Red Lobster Restaurant in nearly every city in America, offering a casual dining experience and convenient parking."

That is a rambling book report of the highest order and the bit about sharks dry- humping your dignity is something that will stick with me for the rest of my life. Now while we rewatch this trailer a few more times you can watch in style with our Maximum Effort tee available here!!

Jason Lott an it just be May 5th already? I mean come on let's just all agree to skip ahead so we can watch this movie. This trailer gave us our first look at Kurt Russell as the human form of Ego and a few possible plot points. I like how James Gunn has given us all a good look at this movie while not feeling like we already know what's going to happen which a lot of trailers seem to do, )looking at you Batman VS Superman...).  We will have to wait to see why the Guardians are fighting that huge tentacled alien, why Nebula is in handcuffs, and why Peter's dad Ego wanted the Ravagers to find him in the first movie. There is only about 2 months to go until Vol 2 releases but it feels light years away, yup space joke. You can check out the new trailer below and the link below that will take you to our rad Ravagers throw back mash up tee!

https://gachngoigomdatviet.com/blogs/news/toy-fair-ny-2017-announcements 2017-02-21T14:32:00-05:00 2017-02-21T14:32:56-05:00 Toy Fair NY 2017 Announcements Jason Lott This weekend saw a ton of awesome new things announced in NY. I was looking around and didn't see any really good full coverage of the event so I went ahead and dug around to bring you some of my favorite things I saw.

Starting with Funko there were a few cool new sets they brought out and Westworld is one we are all stoked on.

These are still prototypes (that's why you see the wonky eyebrow colors) but they are looking just about ready to go and we will for sure have these up for sale as soon as they are released. Another one I'm sure we will have up is the Peter Parker wearing the Midtown shirt from the upcoming movie Spider-man: Homecoming.

Peter is rocking his Midtown look and so you are ready to do the same you can get your tee right here  . I am thinking this will be a good bundle idea like our Eleven Pop! and Beware the Demogorgon tee that we have up now at Shirtnado! so be on the look out for that this Spring!

Now DC had a few things that I liked, the new Batman Black and White statues are up there, but the coolest figure I saw was the TV version of John Constantine (R.I.P.) If you were a fan of the show this guy belongs on your shelf.

Marvel had a few figures I am stoked about but to keep it short I will just show 2. Honorary mention to the Nebula and Spider-Man Legends figures that looked amazing though. First up we have Moon Knight. If you aren't excited just based on that there isn't much I can do for you but this guy has needed a good 6 inch figure for a while and yea I would have loved the all white suit look in the current books but this will still do nicely.

The other I wanted to show is from the upcoming Netflix Legends line that will feature characters from all the Marvel Netflix shows. This Daredevil is one of the best sculpts I have seen in a long time and I can't wait to get online one night after a few beers and wake up the next day with a nice long set of pre orders.

Before I leave Marvel I have to show this bad boy off. Last year Marvel put out a pretty fairly priced set of replica items. They started off with Cap's shield and Iron Man's helmet. These both MSRP at around $100 but I picked up my Cap shield for about $75 so some hunting as always can help you save a few bucks. This years set will be Thor's hammer Mjolnir which lights up, responds to your voice, and has a nice little base. The one I am pumped on is Star Lord's helmet though. This bad boy is made for adult size heads (bout time) and lights up as well but also has built in bluetooth headphones. So later this summer when you come by the Shirtnado! booth and see a guy wearing our Ravagers tee and a Star Lord mask dancing around to Redbone's "Come and Get Your Love" stop by and say Hi I might even let you try it on.

Lastly there were a lot of Lego sets I could talk about and don't be shocked if they pop up in a later post once I have built a few but I have to put up the Scarif Stormtrooper. I love the design of these guys and was hoping this would be a set so I can't wait to get this guy on the shelf soon.

Alright that's a lot to digest and there is still a ton more. I'm going to link to some of the sites I was checking out to see what was announced so you can go down that rabbit hole yourself. Look for more coverage over at thefwoosh, gamespot,  toyark, and marveltoynews.

https://gachngoigomdatviet.com/blogs/news/10-things-to-be-stoked-about-in-2017 2017-01-03T11:54:00-05:00 2017-01-03T11:54:45-05:00 10 Things to be Stoked About in 2017 Jason Lott Whew barely made it through 2016. It was touch and go there for a minute but glad to see you are here too. I mean it, you're my favorite. I figured with a whole new year of movies, tv, and video games coming our way I would take you on a little journey that we are calling "10 things to be stoked for in 2017". Now this is by no means all there is coming up but its 10 things I can't wait to check out. Before I get into it let me just say that if I get an honorable mention (and I'm making this list and its rules up so look at that I do indeed get an honorable mention, what luck) it would be for Red Dead Redemption 2. I know Rockstar said 2017 but I'm not getting too excited until I see an exact day. So here is my 10 and I put them in as close to calendar order as I could.
Logan- March 3 : Starting off this list is everyone's favorite knife handed Canuck. The X-men movies have been hit or miss for most people and the stand alone Wolverine movies are the extremes. Wolverine Origins was a pile. If you sat through it you know what I mean so I won't rail against it here. I mean the "Merc with a Mouth" not being able to speak, who thought that was what anyone wanted...Ok you're right, said I wouldn't do this, I'm done. The second Wolverine movie was a much much better take on our boy Logan. So they are tied up at 1 and 1 and here comes the third and final in Hugh Jackman's time as old Wolvey. I have checked out the trailer and it seems to be a much more somber take than I was expecting. What seemed to be a take on the "Old Man Logan" storyline by Mark Millar and Steve McNiven looks now to be a lot more of an original story. I really liked the "Old Man Logan" story but I also understand getting all the characters from that story in one movie would have been basically another avengers level event. Jackman has played the Wolverine for 17 years now (feel old yet?) so let's hope this movie can send him off right.
Iron Fist- March 17 : For me personally this is the event of the year. The Iron Fist is my favorite Marvel character and I have been waiting and waiting for his Netflix show to come. I am sure I will do a longer blog post to kind of set this up closer to the premiere but the super abridged version is that Danny Rand was orphaned and taken in by a magical Kung Fu city and as an outsider he rose up to become the "Immortal Weapon Iron Fist". May seem cheesy and the original story from the 70's were but since then the character has gone through many different writers and artists hands to become more interesting and nuanced than his popped collar kung fu beginnings would lead you to believe. So far Netflix has been nailing the Marvel heroes of Hell's Kitchen and Harlem so I have more than enough faith they will do my man proud. Just a little longer to wait until I can binge it all on Friday March 17th. (Totally unrelated if you are reading this on Friday March 17th and I called off sick, it has nothing to do with binge watching Iron Fist...total coincidence.)
Mass Effect Andromeda- March TBA : Taking place 600 years after the original M.E. trilogy this game looks like it will be what fans want. Taking what the developers learned from the old games and improving on it for the newest release. A lot of people had their complaints about M.E. 3's ending so hopefully the jump forward in time will let people start fresh although in the gameplay trailer that was released we see a lot of familiar alien races so maybe this isn't as removed as it seems. No matter what this is a game I am looking forward to getting into for a solid 40- 50 hours based on how long the others took for me to finish and if it can hold my attention as well as they did this could be a game of the year contender. Maybe high hopes but after No Man's Sky I don't think I am alone in wanting a real open world space game with plenty to see and more importantly do.
Nintendo Switch- March TBA : Let's just get this out of the way, Nintendo needs this console to be a win. The Wii U had to be a pretty big letdown after how well the Wii sold. Now coming out years after the PS4 and XBOX One this is a last stand of sorts for Nintendo. Now I hear you already, Nintendo is a classic they will be fine you say. While I don't think they are in a bankruptcy situation I do think they need to really pull people back in. When I think of the big N I get the same warm and fuzzies we all do. Then when I stop and realize that all the games I love from Nintendo are in their late 20's to early 30's that is a bit of a concern. I'm not saying that was the last time the games were good it's just those are my happiest memories with the company. I liked the trailer they put out and I am more than a bit curious. Besides not knowing the price and how long that battery lasts I am maybe 60/ 40 to get one on or near launch. For myself the idea of gaming at home and on the go in one is pretty awesome and I can easily see myself being "Karen" and taking it with me. Who am I kidding? All they really need is to show me that Little Mac throws his star uppercut as well as I remember on the Switch and I'm sold.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2- May 5 : Happy birthday me!! Well mine isn't technically until May 10th (now that you know I will be expecting gifts, donation, cookies with chocolate chips..) but the sequel to what is one of if not my favorite Marvel movie is a hell of a gift anyways. The first Guardians took what is one of the weirdest groups in Marvel and made us all love them. James Gunn has a style that fit this bit of the Marvel universe perfectly and I am totally in for more. I don't need to sell you on this one just go rewatch the trailer...rad huh? In 2 minutes it makes you laugh, has some action, and you fall in love for a tiny tree person and if that doesn't make an amazing movie then I don't know what does. All together now "We are Groot!"
Uncharted Lost Legacy- TBA : I am putting this one here cause I am hoping we get an E3 release. I have no reason to assume that but I love the Uncharted games so I just want to hope its sooner rather than later. This stand alone story will have us playing as Chloe and Nadine all through India as we try to get to a fabled treasure and keep it away from a war profiteer. Now this is coming from a guy who pretty much bought a Vita so I could play Uncharted Golden Abyss and who has Uncharted 4 as their easy game of the year pick for 2016. So whatever Naughty Dog is selling as far as the Uncharted series goes I am buying. They haven't released a ton but there is a gameplay trailer you can check out that gives us a good idea how these ladies will get things done. Nathan may be sitting this one out but it looks like there will be plenty of chases and shoot outs to keep everyone busy with just the same.
Wonder Woman- June 2 : This is the one thing on the list that I am just going with my gut the most on. I know the least about it but I am still pumped on it. Wonder Woman was by far the best part of Batman vs Superman and more than deserves her own movie. This sounds like it will be an origin story for her so its easy enough for anyone to come in and follow plus who doesnt want to see Princess Diana getting into her own WW2 story. Plus if it wasn't for this all DC would be putting out this year is the Justice League movie. Not sure where I stand on that one? See this list of things I'm looking forward to that you're reading? See how it's not on this list? Yea
Spider-Man: Homecoming- July 7 : Of course I am stoked on Spidey. I already wrote him his own blog and we have his Midtown shirt available since pretty much the day the very first pics were leaked. The latest trailer seemed perfect for what I want out of this movie. Peter is in school still learning the ropes or webs (sorry) of being a hero, Tony Stark is guiding him along, and the villians look to be just enough. It's easy to put too much into a movie but Marvel seems to know just what to add without diluting the whole thing. Have to bring up Michael Keaton as the Vulture too. In the comics there have been a few iterations of the Vulture including an elderly guy with a feather boa on and a mobster who was turned into a half man half vulture with acid spit. So it would be easy to go real campy with this guy but the little they have shown is Keaton making him menacing and that can only up the stakes for old webhead.
Game of Thrones- TBA : I'm not sure when this season will premiere but we know it will be a bit after the usual April G.O.T. premiere so I am taking a guess and saying mid summer. There is entirely too much going on with this show for me to even try to mention it all here. Let's just be honest you most likely are a fan of this already because if you aren't you would be a monster. A literal monster is just about the only thing I could imagine that isn't interested in seeing who will finally win this here game about thrones. So let's just all be patient and wait for Winter to return to our tv's.
Thor Ragnarok- Nov 3 : Last on my list is the third Thor movie this time titled "Ragnarok". There isn't a trailer for this one yet so lets cover the basics that we do know. Looking for the plot for this on Wikipedia gives the following sentence "After the events of Avengers: Age of Ultron,Thor, the Hulk and Doctor Strange come together to face off against intergalactic enemies both familiar and new." If you are here reading this you probably saw Doctor Strange and saw this coming from the end credit scene and there have been serious rumors that a certain big green guy will be doing some gladiator type battling. So yea, safe to say this one will be worth checking out. Plus it will be directed by Taika Waititi who did "What We Do in the Shadows" with Jemaine Clement and I am definitely interested in seeing what he can do with a big budget superhero movie.
So there are 10 things to get hyped for in 2017. I know I missed a ton so feel free to let me know what you are all looking forward to. Even if it is the Justice League lol I know there have to be a few people into it so let me know if I am dismissing it early. We are planning a big year with a ton more shirts, Funko Pops!, and even a few more events and cons so stick around to find out where you can come out and pick up everything you need to rep all your loves this year and beyond!

While we are a few months away from a new one hitting I have been biding my time rewatching and rereading a good bit of Marvel stuff. Which all lead me to this - What do we think the next Spidey movie will be like? There have been 5 Spider-Man movies since 2002 and so far 2 different actors have played Peter Parker. Some have done it well (Spider-man 2) and some have not (Spider-man 3). The current Peter Parker is played by Tom Holland who has made his introduction already in Captain America : Civil War. I wasn't sure how Marvel was going to set him up as he is basically being re-introduced to the audiences this time living in the current MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) through Civil War. I was beyond happy that they skipped the origin story out right. At this point I think even kids who never heard of Spider-man just know that he was bit by a radioactive spider, kind of sort of let his uncle die, and then decided to become a hero to make up for it. The last thing Civil War needed was a long Spidey origin tale in the middle of it so instead we find him 6 months into the job. Since we have met Peter and seen what he can do what can we expect in his new movie Spider-Man: Homecoming?

From the details that have made it out things are looking pretty good. This movie seems to be centered on the high school Peter Parker. A lot of the actors announced seem to be cast as either students or teachers so looks like the school will be a major point throughout the story. I have been reading through the Ultimate run written by Brian Michael Bendis and drawn by Mark Bagley until Stuart Immonen took over. If you never checked it out this was a retelling of old web head for a new audience. It focused mostly on the high school Peter and retold a lot of his famous story arcs taking place in a post 2000 setting. I could just be being hopeful because I loved this run but it looks like this new set of movies could draw heavily from the Bendis ultimate story. Focusing on establishing himself as Spider-Man while dealing with his everyday problems is what made the character so popular throughout the years and the ultimate line updated those stories for the new generation.

This movie is also giving some villains that haven't been seen on the big screen their time. The main villain looks to be the Vulture with some help from the Tinkerer and the Shocker. There is also a rumor that there could be a fourth bad guy thrown in as well. That seems like a lot to put into one movie but after seeing that the last few Cap movies have basically been Avengers-lite with good guys and bad all over the place Marvel seems to know how to give everyone enough time for them to make sense. Plus if it seems a bit one sided Iron Man can always pop in since he took up being a mentor to Peter in the MCU and maybe we will get the Iron Spider suit (if you don't know what that is go check out the Civil War story in the comics from 2006. Good guys fight each other, some don't make it, and our boy Spidey gets himself a fancy new suit).

We still have to wait until July 7th to see how this new Spider-man movie goes but you can keep the hype going by wearing a little Midtown High pride with our shirt here.

https://gachngoigomdatviet.com/blogs/news/doctor-strange-review-no-spoilers 2016-11-18T15:34:00-05:00 2016-11-18T15:36:13-05:00 Doctor Strange Review (No Spoilers) Jason Lott I finally saw Doctor Strange last night and while I won't spoil it I will say you need to go see this movie. For background sake I am a pretty big comic guy. I know the books and characters well enough that I don't go to these movies expecting to be surprised. Out of the 4 of us who went I was the only one who knew who Doctor Strange was. One other guy had heard of him from some of the Marvel video games and the others had no idea. We all walked out talking about when we will go see it again so even if you have no clue about this part of the Marvel universe don't worry you will still enjoy it.
The major knock against Marvel movies I hear is that they are all the same origin story again and again. To be honest if you saw the first Iron Man movie then you have more or less heard this story before. Guy is a very successful, cocky, dick who suffers a traumatic setback and goes down the road to redemption and finally being a hero. While the story isn't anything new it is the way it's told that makes this movie amazing.
In a comic the art shows you the beginning and end of Doctor Strange casting a spell and you mind fills in the gap between the panels. Here they had to show the whole process and they nailed it. Magic isn't saying a few words and there it is here. You can see that they are pulling the energy for what happens in as believable a way as possible. That leads into the special effects and this movie is alone in that area. I was watching it and amazed at what I was seeing. The scene with New York folding in on itself is a lot better than the ads make it seem. The other scene you have seen of what looks to be a outer space is done like the old Steve Ditko era comics. It is crazy to see it on the big screen and not done in a cheesy way. I thought the scenes in Inception were done well but Doctor Strange is that times 10. I saw it in 3d and that can be hit or miss but this is the kind of movie thats made for it.
I also think its worth pointing out that this is very much a standalone movie. After the last few Marvel movies have had cameos or co stars of other major characters this is purely Doctor strange. There are a few easter eggs for you to catch but you could walk into this without having seen any previous movie and be totally fine. Of course stay till the end and the end of a Marvel movie is only once the lights are on, all credits have finished, and the guy coming in to sweep up gives you the all clear. The after credit scenes tie Doctor Stange into the overall Marvel movie universe and give a hint to whats to come both for him and with the bigger MU.
If I go on any more it would be spoiler stuff and nobody wants that. So I will just say if you are a fan of comic movies (and if you are here checking out our stuff you most likely are) I completely recommend seeing the good doctor in his first appearance on the big screen. Bonus points if you walk in wearing our shirt ode to his house the Sanctum Sanctorum.  You can pick yours up here .
